Biographical history
Director, guionista y productor chileno. Estudió teatro en la Universidad de Chile, iniciándose como dramaturgo y director de teatral. En 1969 comenzó su carrera cinematográfica con la película "El chacal de Nahueltoro". En 1971 bajo el Gobierno del Presidente Allende fue designado gerente general de Chile Films, la productora del Estado. Partió al exilio una vez ocuurido el golpe militar de 1973. Como refugiado, se radicó primero en México y luego en España. Ha obtenido diversos premios en Chile y en Francia, España, Alemania, Unión Soviética, México y Cuba
