Durante la dictadura el desabastecimiento de los hogares en sectores vulnerables y/o más reprimidos se convirtió en algo común. Para solucionar esta situación, los vecinos se organizaron entre ellos y estructuraron lo que conocemos como "ollas comunes", es decir, se cocinaba para un gran grupo de gente con aportes de todos y así se abarataban costos.
