Chapita metálica de forma rectangular de fondo color rojo. En su interior contiene otro rectángulo con bordes dorados en el que se aprecian un edificio, un telescopio y la representación de un átomo delineados en relieve con colores dorado y blanco sobre un fondo negro. En el borde inferior de la chapita está escrito (pero en idioma ruso) "BAKCM 60 AET" con letras doradas que refiere al aniversario número 60 del Komsomol, la división de jóvenes del partido comunista de la Unión Soviética. Sujeto al broche tiene una cinta color rojo oscuro de aproximádamente 20 cm.
